Biography

I have been a painter all my life. I studied Fine Art at Winchester College of Art , graduating with a BA (Hons) in 1969, followed by a post graduate diploma in Fine Art at the Slade School from 1969-1971. I later qualified as an art teacher, gaining an Art Teaching Diploma from Hornsey College of Art in 1973. In 2000 I studied for a HND in Photography and Digital Imaging at Solihull College, and took a particular interest in developing darkroom skills.

I am passionate about drawing and devised and ran an observational drawing course ‘Demystifying Drawing’ which I ran successfully from my studio from 2002. I also devised a course  ‘Unlocking Your Potential’ which I ran for artists in the U.K. and in France.

As well as my own painting practice, I currently mentor artists one-to-one, helping them to overcome blocks and develop confidence in their work.
